2026 Honoree
Honoring Matt Leinart with the 2026 Roy Firestone Award
We're thrilled to welcome USC legend and FOX Sports College Football analyst Matt Leinart as this year's Roy Firestone Award honoree. Matt joins a legacy of honorees — from Roy Firestone himself to Joe Montana, Allyson Felix, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar — who've used their platform to champion the next generation of athletes.
Matt is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in college football history. During his time at USC from 2003 to 2005, he won the Heisman Trophy, led the Trojans to back-to-back national championships, and finished with an outstanding 37-2 record as a starter — a career that later earned him induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. He went on to play six seasons in the NFL after being drafted in the first round in 2006.
A Southern California native, Matt has spent the past decade as a college football analyst for FOX Sports, where he's a regular on Big Noon Kickoff. Off the field, he's long been committed to expanding opportunity for young athletes through the Matt Leinart Foundation — work that makes him a natural fit for WSA's mission. He lives in Los Angeles with his family.

Today, that means funding programming across 15 LA City Parks & Recreation Centers, supporting parks programming in Long Beach, and partnering with many other incredible nonprofits doing life-changing work for youth across Southern California.
