Starz Foundation Starz Foundation launched City Starz, a program designed to reach deep within under-served, inner-city communities to provide residing children with the opportunity to participate in something bigger than the activities of the city streets. Offering access to the alternative sport of lacrosse and a mentor program, City Starz provides optimism, hope, and guidance while setting the framework for a "brighter future." The Starz Foundation, a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization, was thrilled to receive a $5,000 grant from Westcoast Sports Associates this past summer of 2007. The funding allowed nearly 30 children from South-Central Los Angeles to attend lacrosse camps throughout Southern California , providing each of them the opportunity to become further engrained in the healthy lifestyle the sport promotes. The support Westcoast Sports Associates provided has enabled the Starz Foundation to accomplish its mission to broadly support the development of lacrosse in the western U.S. by reaching into under-served communities and support student-athletes pursuing their lacrosse and collegiate goals.
