Pepperdine Sports Camps In the summer of 2007, 45 inner city children were brought to the campus of Pepperdine University in Malibu , California to participate in all-day summer sports day camps. Through a cooperative venture with WSA, Pepperdine Athletics, the Salvation Army Red Shield program and the Venice Boys and Girls Club, the boys and girls--ages 13 and under--were treated to award-winning sports camps. WSA funded this outreach project to provide inner city boys and girls with a unique camping experience in a different environment than that of their home area. Pepperdine coaches and student athletes provided the instruction. WSA has been funding this program since the summer of 2003. [ return to Charities main page ]
