Pepperdine Sports Camps
Since 2003, WSA has been sending approximately 30 inner-city children each year to the campus of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, to participate in summer sports camps. Through a cooperative venture with WSA and Pepperdine Athletics, boys and girls from the LA Chapter of the Salvation Army, the Venice Boys and Girls Club, and the Long Beach "Winners Reaching Amazing Potential" program were treated to award-winning sports camps. WSA funded this outreach project to provide inner-city children with a unique camping experience in a different environment than that of their home area. Pepperdine coaches and student athletes provided the instruction.
