In 1996, Westcoast Sports Associates created the Roy Firestone Award,
named after the nationally acclaimed sportscaster and WSA member. Roy has inspired
many through his substantial community service work, contributions to
youth sports and overall passion for sports as an ESPN broadcast journalist.
At an annual dinner each year, the prestigious Roy Firestone Award honors a prominent sports figure who has made significant contributions to the community and typifies WSA's mission to support youth sports. This dinner is WSA’s main fundraising event.
The award is presented at a gala hosted by Roy Firestone and
sponsored by a broad array of blue-chip corporations, financial
institutions, entertainment companies and law firms.
