Brett Favre Fourward Foundation

In 2006, WSA donated $15,000 to the Brett Favre Fourward Foundation to help rebuild two youth baseball programs in Mississippi whose facilities were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. A total of $7,500 was given to the Bay St. Louis Babe Ruth Baseball League. After Katrina destroyed the youth baseball fields in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, there was little hope that the children would be able to play recreational baseball because of the amount of work needed to be done throughout the county. People in the area were so busy trying to get into their homes that extracurricular activities didn't seem as important, except to the children. Thanks to WSA, the children were able to play baseball again.

The remaining $7,500 from WSA helped rebuild the youth baseball facilities at the Kiln Athletic Association in Kiln, Mississippi. Kiln was the only place children north of I-10 had to play baseball. This area hosted four fields and is the low-income part of the community. After Katrina, they needed the help desperately. They needed everything from uniforms and equipment to bathrooms facilities to new gravel on the road entering the fields.

In 2007, WSA donated an additional $5,000 to help with the rebuilding efforts of the recreational basketball leagues in South Mississippi. The money was donated to the Hancock County Youth Basketball league to help purchase uniforms and basketballs.
